Salt

You might think that I sea pasta contains too much salt to be healthy. Surprisingly, nothing is less true! A portion of I sea pasta contains 1,6 grams of salt before preparation. However, due to soaking, cooking or rinsing during the preparation, 1/3rd of this salt is already washed out. After that the pasta contains about 20% of your daily recommended salt intake. But then again, not all salt in I sea pasta is taken up by your body, because it is in cell walls and part of it is excreted immediately due to all the fibres in I sea pasta. Finally, you shouldn’t add any salt when you’re cooking I sea pasta, which most of the people do when they’re preparing regular pasta.

I sea bacon can give a salty kick to your meal. But don’t worry about the salt content of this delicious product: a portion of I sea bacon contains only 0,23 grams of salt, which is 3% of the daily recommended intake of 6 grams per day! Just as with I sea pasta, not all salt in I sea bacon is taken up by your body, because it is in cell walls and part of it is excreted immediately due to all the fibres in I sea bacon.
